SSS #11: Simple, Yet Effective, Cardio HIIT

Who loves doing 60 minutes of steady state cardio??  Nope, not this girl!  I’d much prefer doing 20 minutes of high intensity interval training (or HIIT) for approximately the same (if not higher!) caloric burn.  Who’s with me?!

Here is a simple, but very effective cardio-based HIIT!  All exercises are a form of high intensity cardio burst made to get your heart pumping!  It is only 20 minutes of your time so be sure to push yourself to the max!

Here’s the breakdown: 30s/10s X 4

  • Jump rope
  • Ab swings
  • High Knees
  • Burpees with pushup
  • Jump rope
  • Mountain climbers
  • High knees
  • Squat jumps

Set your interval timers for 30 seconds of work and 10 seconds rest and complete this circuit 4X through.  Try to complete this workout without any additional breaks.  I know you can do it!  Believe you can and you will succeed!

* It’s always a good idea to warm up for a few minutes before diving into a workout.  It warms your muscles which will help prevent injury.
